IP Cameras
An Internet protocol camera, or IP camera, is a type of digital video camera commonly employed for surveillance, and which, unlike analog closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, can send and receive data via a computer network and the Internet. Although most cameras that do this are webcams, the term IP camera or netcam is usually applied only to those used for surveillance that can be directly accessed over a network connection.
HD-TVI Digital Cameras
HD-TVI stands for High Definition Transport Video Interface. It is a digital signal processing and transport technology for video used in HD security cameras and DVRs. The TVI standard was developed by a company named Techpoint and released in 2014. The technology has been supplied to many manufacturers worldwide. Consumers can reliably connect TVI cameras from different manufacturers to the same DVR.
HD-TVI cameras currently support 1080p video resolution using the same coaxial cabling techniques used by traditional analog CCTV cameras. This makes it easy for people with existing analog CCTV systems to upgrade to an HD system because most of the time they can leverage their existing cable infrastructure.
Analog Cameras
An analog surveillance camera begins with a CCD sensor and then digitizes the image for processing. But before it can transmit the video, it needs to convert it back to analog so it can be received by an analog device, such as a video monitor or recorder. Unlike IP cameras, analog have no built-in web servers or encoders and require no technical maintenance. These functions are implemented in the recording and/or control equipment.
Wireless Cameras
Wireless cameras are closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras that transmit a video and audio signal to a wireless receiver through a radio band. Many wireless cameras require at least one cable or wire for power; "wireless" refers to the transmission of video/audio. However, some wireless cameras are battery-powered, making the cameras truly wireless from top to bottom.
Audio Capturing cameras
Analog CCTV camera - the audio input is directly fed into the DVR. It means, between the DVR and the microphone (audio input device), it is the analog signal transmission. The digitalisation of the audio signal is done at the recorder level.
The limitation of how many microphones can be installed of this solution would be the number of inputs allowed by the DVR.
IP CCTV camera - the audio input is fed into the IP Camera. Between IP camera and the microphone, it’s the analog signal transmission. However, digitalisation of the audio signal is done at the IP camera level. And it will be digital signal to transmitted to the NVR.
The limitation of how many microphones can be installed, for this solution, would be purely depend on the number of video channel of the NVR, and whether the IP camera comes with the audio input. Say, a 8 channel NVR, with all the 8 audio-input-available IP cameras installed, can accommodate up to 8 microphones.
Hidden Cameras
A hidden camera or spy camera or security camera is a still or video camera used to record people without their knowledge. The term “hidden camera” is commonly used in reality TV shows, sometimes when subjects are unaware that they are being recorded, and sometimes with their knowledge and consent. The term “spy camera” is generally used when the subject would normally be expected to object to being recorded as an invasion of their privacy. The term “security camera” is commonly used to provide a justification for a surreptitious recording, and can be contrasted with CCTV, which is visible and which sometimes is accompanied with a warning notice of its presence.
